The 8th Asia Pcigifc Geoparks Network Symposium

The Asia Pacific Geoparks Network (APGN) SymposiumThe Asia Pacific Geoparks Network (APGN) Symposium is the most important event among APGN members. It provides the opportunity for APGN members, geologists, scientists and colleagues…to share and exchange their experiences in the operation and management of Geoparks.Since 2007, seven APGN Symposiums have been taken places in the UNESCO Global Geoparks of Langkawi (Malaysia), Dong Van Karst Plateau (Viet Nam), Jeju Island (Republic of Korea), San’in Kaigan (Japan), Zhijindong cave (Republic of China), Rinjani-Lombok (Indonesia) and Satun (Thailand). The 8^th Asia Pacific Geoparks Network Symposium will take place in September 2024 in Non nuoc Cao Bang UGGp, Cao Bang Province, Viet Nam under the theme “Local/ indigenous people and sustainable development in Geoparks”. There will be scientific sessions of various topics such as heritage protection, geoparks and the realization of sustainable development goals, climate change adaptation, etc. and particularly, topics related to the local people and indigenous people and their activities associated with the geoparks along with exhibitions and geopark booths.
